Mercy Seat Fellowship uses donations towards a variety of needs, including (but not limited to):

-Animal rearing projects

-School fees for in-need families

-Community healthcare

-Purchasing land

-Transportation costs

-Home repairs for community members

-Scholastic materials for students

-Building costs (for our school, clinic, etc.)

-Mercy Seat School costs

Mercy Seat Fellowship recognizes the importance of using foreign donations to empower and sustain the local people.  We do use some funds to cover immediate, dire needs...however, our goal is to move the families we help towards complete self-sustainability.  Using donations towards the creation of businesses, animal rearing projects, etc. will help provide opportunities for families to earn their own income and provide for themselves.  We want to change the prevalent mindset in Uganda that the way out of poverty is a foreign handout.  Instead, we desire to empower families to generate income that will allow them to be the solution to their own problems.

There are two ways to donate to Mercy Seat Fellowship:

1.  You can use Western Union to send money directly to Uganda.  The money must be sent to Robert Okwakol in Soroti, Uganda.  Please email Pastor Robert through our contact page to let him know that a donation is on its way.  You will also need to email him the MTCN number from Western Union (printed on your receipt after you send the money) that he must provide in order to pick up the donation in Uganda.  Any donations funneled through Western Union are NOT tax-deductible.

2.  If you prefer making a tax-deductible donation, you can donate through our American outreach arm, Link.Launch.Love.  Click here and follow instructions on how to donate.

***A Note on Giving***

We want to take a moment to explain how resources are used on the ground in Uganda.  Because Mercy Seat is a small, local NGO, it is very relational.  The families we work with are not projects; they are our friends.  They call us sisters, brothers, daughters, etc.  We know and love them on a personal level.  We regularly visit the families we support to meet with them, pray for them, and ask them about their most pressing needs.  As needs arise and resources pop up to match the needs, we fill them.  What we could call the most urgent need today might not be the most urgent need tomorrow.  Ministry is dynamic.  We prefer people to give to our general fund, because it gives us the freedom to use the money to help people best as needs arise.  When funders give to a specific family or person, we can actually receive too much for that specific family and not have enough to help another family.  That’s why we ask that you trust us to use donations on the ground as we see fit.  We prayerfully and thoughtfully consider how to use everything entrusted to us.  We believe in integrity and stewarding our resources well.  This is our commitment to donors and our responsibility to the God who provides for us!

Thank you for your willingness to bless Mercy Seat and the Soroti community financially.  Your generosity and partnership is most appreciated!
